"an impressive and affecting piece of theatre"
"poignant and absorbing... an extraordinary and
memorable piece of storytelling"
"This is a powerful compelling play, in which
you feel yourself sucked into the story, and
it is stunning."
The Edinburgh Reporter
"an outstanding play. ...unforgettable"
"fiercely intelligent, compassionate and
sometimes unbearably moving production"
by Alexander Garfath, Sara Saddington, Sarah-Jane Wingrove and Ilana Winterstein.
Paper Tom is a timely new play that follows the stories of two British soldiers almost 100 years apart: one from the First World War, and the second in present-day Afghanistan. This powerful and thought provoking production traces the parallel challenges of what happens to soldiers and their loved-ones once the adrenaline of active service has faded.
